Recap: Bloomfield Bees vs. Wausa Vikings

The Bloomfield Bees have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 38-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wausa on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bloomfield has scored all season.

Defeat or not, Bloomfield got some senior leadership from Wiley Ziegler who scored five points along with five rebounds and four steals and Layne Warrior who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Warrior scored a full 43.3% of Bloomfield's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Bloomfield struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Wausa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Schindler out in front who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Schlote, who scored seven points.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Wausa, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Bloomfield won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Creighton at 3:45 p.m. on December 30th. Creighton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Bloomfield is ranked 80th). Wausa won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Boyd County at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th. Hopefully Boyd County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
