Soccer Game Preview: Rockvale vs. Oakland

Rockvale will square off against the Oakland Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Rockvale is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Blackman, who was ranked ninth at the time (Rockvale was ranked tenth). Rockvale narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Blackman 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Rockvale was the better team in the second half.

Rafael Albuquerque and Aidan Sinclair scored both of Rockvale's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oakland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Riverdale 2-1.

Rockvale's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Oakland, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-1.

Rockvale came out on top in a nail-biter against Oakland when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does Rockvale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oakland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
