Baseball Game Preview: Iroquois Redhawks vs. Pioneer Panthers

For the second straight game, Iroquois will face off against Pioneer. The Redhawks will face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Iroquois is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.

Iroquois took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Pioneer. The Redhawks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Iroquois let Slade McTigue and Alexander Yandricha run wild. McTigue went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Yandricha went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Yandricha is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Fragale, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Iroquois' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
