Soccer Game Preview: Cocke County vs. David Crockett

The Cocke County Fighting Cocks will venture away from home to challenge the David Crockett Pioneers on Saturday.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Cocke County and Fulton, and Fulton kept the tradition alive. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Falcons who were credited with the win on Thursday. Cocke County haven't had much luck with Fulton recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

On Thursday, David Crockett made easy work of Tennessee and carried off a 5-1 victory. The result was nothing new for David Crockett, who have now won nine matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

David Crockett's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four games. As for Cocke County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Cocke County beat David Crockett by a goal when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Cocks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
