Corvian Community came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-1 to the Lake Norman Charter Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Lake Norman Charter this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

Corvian Community's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10-1. As for Lake Norman Charter, their win ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-10-1.

Corvian Community and Lake Norman Charter could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Cardinals (ranked 315th) will meet Pine Lake Prep (ranked 67th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter will square off against Bradford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (256 vs. 109).
