Baseball Recap: Waskom Victorious

Waskom took a 16-run loss the last time they faced off against Carlisle, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats skirted past the Indians 3-2.

Cason Haggard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bubba Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.

Waskom has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-14-1 record this season. As for Carlisle, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Waskom will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
