Basketball Game Preview: Holly Wildcats vs. Springfield Longhorns

Holly is 2-8 against Springfield since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Holly Wildcats will square off against the Springfield Longhorns at 2:00 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Holly challenged Granada on Thursday. Holly fell 50-40 to Granada. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Springfield came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Primero 64-16. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Holly's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Holly took a serious blow against Springfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 57-30. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Springfield's Cobi Mackey, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine assists.
