With a playoff win on the line, Sumter County rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors 42-7. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 29 points or more this season.

A big part of Sumter County's victory came down to the chemistry between Ishmael Jones and his top target Omari Woodard. Jones threw for 201 yards and two TDs while completing 81% of his passes while Woodard picked up 121 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 121 receiving yards gave Woodard a new career-high.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Sumter County, racking up 18 points in total. Juan Aguirre delivered a perfect 5-5 game.

The win (which was Sumter County's third in a row) raised their record to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Coming up, Sumter County will face off against North Murray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Jones and Hudson Hulett. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
