Recap: Flandreau Fliers vs. Baltic Bulldogs
The Flandreau Fliers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 58-51 victory over Baltic. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Flandreau also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Baltic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jack Erickson. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Erickson scored a full 37.3% of Baltic's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Erickson, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Baltic were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Flandreau is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Baltic, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Flandreau won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sioux Valley at 4:30 p.m. on January 6th. One thing working in Sioux Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Baltic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chester at 3:00 p.m. on January 6th.
