Soccer Game Preview: Piper vs. Hayden

The Piper Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Hayden Wildcats on Monday. Piper has given up an average of 3.2 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Piper fell victim to Bishop Miege and their airtight defense on Saturday. They lost 8-0 to the Stags. The loss continues a trend for Piper in their meetings with Bishop Miege: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Hayden fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Spring Hill on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Hayden's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Piper's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Hayden, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Piper suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Hayden when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
