La Mirada got a massive performance out of Win Gurney, who fired off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Gurney a new career-high. Travis Friend was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Meanwhile, Venice unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 4-1 to Riverview Sarasota. Indians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Rams since on Friday.

La Mirada's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Venice, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 18-3.
