Flag Football Game Preview: Clairemont Chieftains vs. University City Centurions + How To Watch

The Clairemont Chieftains will take on the University City Centurions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Clairemont 14.6, University City 9.3) so any points scored will be well earned.

Clairemont was handed a 27-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They slipped by Morse 39-38. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Chieftains considering their six-point performance the contest before.

A big part of Clairemont's win came down to the chemistry between Abby Mora and her top target Kacey Otterman. Mora threw for 189 yards and three TDs while Otterman picked up 106 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Mora racked up 47 rushing yards, the most she's had since back in September.

Meanwhile, University City fell victim to Scripps Ranch and their airtight defense on Tuesday. The matchup between the Centurions and the Falcons didn't end well, with the Centurions falling 18-0. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Centurions couldn't quite close it out.

Clairemont is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for University City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Clairemont won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in September, slipping by University City 20-19. Do the Chieftains have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Centurions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
