Basketball Recap: Willow Spring Starts off Right with Win over Felton Grove

Willow Spring had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Felton Grove Galaxy 72-8 on Tuesday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Storm had established a 55-point advantage.

Leading Willow Spring to victory were Taylor Gray and Ahnala Temple. Gray posted 24 points in addition to six boards and five steals, while Temple dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 steals. That's the most steals Gray has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Lily Temple, who put up nine points.

Felton Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Willow Spring wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-44 win against Fuquay - Varina on the 21st. As for Felton Grove, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Athens Drive at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.
