Basketball Game Preview: Huntsville Eagles vs. Pea Ridge Blackhawks

Huntsville is 1-9 against Pea Ridge since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Huntsville Eagles will take on the Pea Ridge Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Huntsville lost to Prairie Grove on the road by a 51-34 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Tigers are ranked 210th).

Meanwhile, Pea Ridge had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They skirted past the Bobcats 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blackhawks have posted since January 19, 2024.

Pea Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Huntsville, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Huntsville came up short against Pea Ridge when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 67-56. Can Huntsville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
