Softball Game Preview: Central of Clay County Volunteers vs. Shelby County Wildcats

The Central of Clay County Volunteers will square off against the Shelby County Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Central of Clay County didn't have quite enough to beat Munford and fell 4-2.

Meanwhile, Shelby County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Briarwood Christian on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since March 8th.

Danslen Connell (2029) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-5. She is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Tolleson (2028), who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Central of Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Shelby County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
