Baseball Recap: Moscow Comes Up Short

Moscow lost against Lake City back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bears fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 4-2.

Moscow got a good showing from Wyatt Hartig, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Hartig has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyson Izzo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Moscow has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Lake City, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Timberwolves beat Moscow by a score of 8-7 later that day.
