Football Recap: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Flowing Wells Caballeros
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain View). They put the hurt on the Flowing Wells Caballeros with a sharp 37-13 victory on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mountain Lions have posted since October 20, 2023.
Nicholas Horrocks went supernova for Mountain View, rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Mountain View is 2-1 when Horrocks posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Gomez, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
He was just one part of a punishing run game: Mountain View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 440 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Although Flowing Wells took the loss, they still got scores from Alfredo Guzman and Jack Youmans.

As for Flowing Wells, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
