Football Game Preview: King's Ridge Christian Tigers vs. Mount Pisgah Christian Patriots

King's Ridge Christian hasn't had much luck against Mount Pisgah Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. King's Ridge Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Mount Pisgah Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

King's Ridge Christian will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against Flint River Academy on Friday. The Tigers enjoyed a cozy 35-20 win over the Wildcats. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Tigers were the (much) better team in the second half.

King's Ridge Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Austin Drye led the charge by rushing for 102 yards and one TD on only nine carries. That's the most rushing yards Drye has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Lord, who gained 52 total yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mount Pisgah Christian's offense. They were dealt a 44-0 loss at the hands of Wesleyan on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost five in a row.

Mount Pisgah Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for King's Ridge Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. King's Ridge Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 242.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Mount Pisgah Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 76.7 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

King's Ridge Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mount Pisgah Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with an 18-13 win.
