Basketball Game Preview: Holyoke Purple Knights vs. Sci-Tech CyberCats

The Holyoke Purple Knights will head out on the road to take on the Sci-Tech CyberCats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holyoke knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Sci-Tech likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Holyoke needed a bit of extra time to put away Central. They skirted past the Golden Eagles 77-74.

Holyoke's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chauncey Ruiz, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycob Andujar, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sci-Tech can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Monday. They came out on top against Cardinal Spellman by a score of 52-43.

Holyoke pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points per game. As for Sci-Tech, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Holyoke was able to grind out a solid win over Sci-Tech when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 62-53. Does Holyoke have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sci-Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
