Baseball Recap: Woodlake Extends Winning Streak to Four

Woodlake came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Strathmore Spartans 12-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Woodlake let Elias Lang and Guillermo Rosales run wild. Lang went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Rosales went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Schmidt, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Woodlake's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Strathmore, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Woodlake has already played their next match, an 11-1 win against Avenal on the 12th. As for Strathmore, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-9 defeat against Riverdale on the 12th.
