Baseball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 19-3 to the Piqua Indians. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

Wayne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Corbin, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Piqua, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-10 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne will take on Northmont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunderbolts have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Piqua, they will face off against Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
