Preview: Northern Heights vs. Troy
On Friday Northern Heights will take on Troy at 7:00 PM. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Northern Heights now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
Things haven't been easy for Northern Heights, and their game last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They came up short against Wabaunsee, falling 7-16. A silver lining for Northern Heights was the play of senior Marcus Waters, who picked up 50 yards on the ground and accumulated 136 passing yards. In fact, with ten tackles Waters was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Troy put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. Everything came up roses for them against Jefferson County North as the team secured a 54-8 victory. That looming 46-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Troy yet.
Troy's win lifted them to 5-3 while Northern Heights's loss dropped them down to 2-6. We'll find out if Troy can add another positive mark to their record or if Northern Heights can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Troy's step.
