Volleyball Recap: Leading Edge Academy - GEC Takes a Loss

Leading Edge Academy - GEC managed to slip by Gilbert Classical Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Leading Edge Academy - GEC lost 3-0 to Gilbert Classical Academy on Tuesday. Leading Edge Academy - GEC was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gilbert Classical Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.

Cory VanNiekerk paced Leading Edge Academy - GEC's offense, picking up six kills. VanNiekerk got some help from Evan Bouman and his eight assists.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Leading Edge Academy - GEC is taking a road trip to square off against ALA - West Foothills at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Guardians will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each contest than the last. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they will be playing at home against BASIS Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
