Softball Recap: Providence School Comes Up Short

Providence School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Fleming Island Golden Eagles, falling 19-2. The Stallions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Providence School saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Summer Stearns, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Providence School's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Fleming Island, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence School will host Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Stallions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Conquerors have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Fleming Island, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Clay at 6:00 p.m. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
