Baseball Recap: Genesee Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lapwai

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Genesee). They put the hurt on the Lapwai Wildcats with a sharp 19-2 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Noah Bollman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Genesee is 3-1-1 when Bollman posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Genesee got a massive performance out of Conrad Seubert, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Seubert a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Jackson Banks, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Genesee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lapwai only posted a batting average of .231.

The win snapped Genesee's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3-2 record. As for Lapwai, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Genesee beat the Wildcats by a score of 12-11 later that day.
