Softball Game Preview: Chazy Eagles vs. Bolton Central Eagles

Chazy will take on Bolton Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Chazy easily dispatched Willsboro Central on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Eagles fell just short of Johnsburg Central by a score of 8-6 on Monday. The loss put an end to the Eagles' undefeated start to the season.

Stephanie Barriere was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Calleigh Clark made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI. Clark is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least four every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Bechard, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Bolton Central made easy work of Lake Placid on Friday and carried off a 27-5 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bombers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Chazy's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Bolton Central, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
