Baseball Game Preview: Geneva Eagles vs. Lakeside Dragons

The Geneva Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Lakeside Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Geneva is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake Catholic just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 7-1 to the Cougars.

Geneva saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Sabin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Lakeside came up short against Madison on Tuesday, falling 10-2. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Blue Streaks recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Geneva's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Geneva was able to grind out a solid victory over Lakeside in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 17-13. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
