Layton scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the West Jordan Jaguars 56-50. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Layton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaymbree Henry, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taya Pace, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 15 points.

West Jordan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Francine McIntyre, who went 6 of 9 en route to 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Giselle Muffett was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Layton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for West Jordan, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Layton will head out to challenge Copper Hills at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for West Jordan, they will take on San Marcos in a tournament on Thursday.
