Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tahoma

Tahoma had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mt. Rainier Rams a 2-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 on Tuesday.

Bryson Leach looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Dyk was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Tahoma's win bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for Mt. Rainier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Tahoma will face off against Mount Si at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.5, the Wildcats 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mt. Rainier, they will challenge Auburn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
