It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Headland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eufaula Tigers, sneaking past 7-6. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

The team relied heavily on Layla Goodwin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Henlee Floyd also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Headland and bumps their season record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Eufaula, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13-1.

Coincidentally, Headland and Eufaula will both be playing Pike Liberal Arts the next time they take the field. Headland will host Pike Liberal Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while Eufaula will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on March 31st.
