Baseball Recap: Caldera Comes Up Short

Caldera lost to Ridgeview on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Caldera fell 7-3 to Ridgeview. Caldera has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parker Russell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Lucas Ninneman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Caldera: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

Caldera's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Ridgeview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6-1.

While Caldera had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
