Basketball Recap: Lausanne Collegiate Takes a Loss

If Lausanne Collegiate was feeling good fresh off their 67-36 takedown of Northpoint Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx fell 58-48 to the St. George's Gryphons on Friday. The Lynx were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gryphons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Lausanne Collegiate still got an impressive performance from Zuri Mcclure, who posted 19 points and seven rebounds. Mcclure is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Taylor, who had four points and three steals.

St. George's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Farris, who went 5 for 11 en route to 15 points. Farris is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rollin Crose, who earned nine points.

Lausanne Collegiate has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for St. George's, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lausanne Collegiate will venture away from home to take on First Assembly Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. George's, they are taking a road trip to challenge Evangelical Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. George's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.
