Basketball Recap: Poplarville Comes Up Short

Poplarville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 25-13 to the George County Rebels. The Hornets lost against the Rebels in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 58-22 score last time.

Poplarville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for George County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poplarville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Jones at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for George County, they will challenge Stone at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
