Bridge City strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 21-14 win over the Orangefield Bobcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Ashton Sumrall was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 116 yards and two TDs. Bridge City also got help from Abraham Munguia, who showed off his sure hands for 143 receiving yards.

Bridge City's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Orangefield, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Bridge City will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lumberton at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. This will be the Cardinals' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Orangefield, they have already played their next match, a 41-19 win against St. Louis Catholic on the 18th.
