Baseball Recap: Waterloo East Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

While Waterloo East's victory against Marshalltown wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Bobcats on Friday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Waterloo East's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-15-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Marshalltown, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-20.

Coincidentally, Waterloo East and Marshalltown will both be playing Mason City the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Mohawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Bobcats will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
