After failing to score in their last matchup, Charlotte made sure to put some goals up on the board against Port Charlotte on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Port Charlotte Pirates a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Fightin' Tarpons have won five games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the fourth in a row for Charlotte, bringing their record for this year to 11-1-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Port Charlotte, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Charlotte will head out on the road to square off against Ida Baker at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ida Baker is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season. As for Port Charlotte, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against DeSoto County at 6:30 p.m.
