Football Game Preview: Sand Creek Scorpions vs. Centaurus Warriors + How To Watch

The Sand Creek Scorpions will head out on the road to square off against the Centaurus Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sand Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

On Friday, Sand Creek humbled Gateway with a 48-6 victory. With the Scorpions ahead 41-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

It was another big night for Ethan Mangrum, who rushed for 276 yards and four TDs on only ten carries. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 16th straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Mangrum was just one part of a punishing run game: Sand Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 433 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Centaurus entered their contest against Grand Junction on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Warriors received a blow as they fell 31-14 to the Tigers.

Sand Creek's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 53.9 points this season. As for Centaurus, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Sand Creek strolled past Centaurus in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 48-30. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Warriors' Addisu Mccormick, who rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 41 receiving yards.
