Baseball Recap: Kirby Takes a Loss

Kirby lost against Cordova back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Kirby lost 11-5 to Cordova. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Terrence Stephenson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Stephenson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Kirby's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Cordova, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kirby will face off against Middle College at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Kirby's pitchers better be ready for this one: Middle College has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Cordova, they will challenge Bolton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cordova is facing Bolton at the right time seeing as Bolton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
