Geneva waltzed into their match on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors as they made off with an 11-4 victory. 11 seems to be a good number for the Knights as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jeremiah Kavanah made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Trenton Johnson and Tyson Hilliard did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Hilliard went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave Hilliard a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Strokes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Geneva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orlando Christian Prep only posted an OBP of .355.

Geneva's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Orlando Christian Prep, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneva will face off against Holy Cross Lutheran Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Geneva's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Holy Cross Lutheran Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Orlando Christian Prep, they will challenge Tohopekaliga at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
