Volleyball Recap: Block Island Takes a Loss

Block Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights.

Block Island took Exeter-West Greenwich into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-18, 19-25, 21-25, 15-10.

Block Island's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Block Island is set to challenge their familiar foe North Providence at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Exeter-West Greenwich will square off against rival Burrillville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
