Soccer Game Preview: Judson vs. Davenport

The Judson Rockets will face off against the Davenport Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Judson's last seven matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Wednesday, it was close, but Judson sidestepped SA Roosevelt for a 3-2 win. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 584th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Davenport had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let Somerset onto the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. With that win, Wolves brought their scoring average up to 2.7 goals per game.

They hit Somerset with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Vicente Hernandez (2), Josh Atampi (2), Blake Townsley (2), and Zayne Zeeff.

Davenport's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5-1. As for Judson, they now have a winning record of 3-2-3.
