Volleyball Recap: Washburn Gets the Win

Washburn picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They skirted past the Chattahoochee Cougars 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Their offense was headlined by Ebany Hill and Abigail Epperson, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Kylie Ferguson and her 15 assists. Epperson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Chattahoochee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kennadi Peterson, who had 18 digs and four assists, and Isabella Podesta, who had 13 assists and five digs. With that strong performance, Peterson is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. Ana Behrmann also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Washburn's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Chattahoochee, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-17.

Washburn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Middlesboro on the 13th. As for Chattahoochee, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Henry Clay on the 13th.
