Basketball Recap: Boyd Christian Picks Up 18th Straight Win at Home

Boyd Christian had won two straight games and Brooke Kesey did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Boyd Christian Broncos strolled past the Monterey Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 64-48 thanks in part to Kesey, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 boards. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cydney Perry, who posted five points along with six boards and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played.

Despite the loss, Monterey saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jalee Johnson went 9 of 16 on her way to 22 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Novak, who put up eight points.

Boyd Christian pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.2 points. As for Monterey, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Boyd Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-37 defeat against Van Buren County on the 6th. As for Monterey, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-32 loss against Scott on the 6th.
