Softball Recap: Marietta Blue Devils vs. Hiram Hornets
Marietta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat. They came up short against the Hiram Hornets, falling 13-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 20-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Even though they lost, Marietta hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.
Marietta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Hiram, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marietta's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Paulding at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hiram, they will face off against Allatoona at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
