Basketball Game Preview: Priest River Spartans vs. St. Maries Lumberjacks

Priest River hasn't had much luck against St. Maries recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Priest River Spartans will welcome the St. Maries Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Priest River will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Kellogg, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Priest River narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Kellogg 51-48. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Maries). They blew past Grangeville 72-50 on Friday. With the Lumberjacks ahead 41-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.

St. Maries now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Priest River, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Priest River beat St. Maries 54-44 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Priest River repeat their success, or does St. Maries have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
