Softball Recap: Bangor Victorious

Bangor took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Messalonskee, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-1. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 12-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Emma Tripp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abby Folsom, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Bangor's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Messalonskee, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bangor will face off against rival Hampden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Messalonskee is set to take on their familiar foe Camden Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
