Baseball Game Preview: Gadsden Panthers vs. Organ Mountain Knights

Gadsden hasn't had much luck against Organ Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Gadsden will take on Organ Mountain at 7:00 p.m. Organ Mountain took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Gadsden, who comes in off a win.

Gadsden is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Silver with a sharp 14-1 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Aiden Dominguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Dominguez was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Gadsden got a massive performance out of Robert Martinez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alonso Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Organ Mountain faced Clovis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Organ Mountain fell 6-2 to Clovis.

Organ Mountain saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eren De Leon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that De Leon snagged this season. Jesus Garibay was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

The victory got Gadsden back to even at 5-5-1. As for Organ Mountain, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4-1.

Gadsden came up short against Organ Mountain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Can Gadsden avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
