John F. Kennedy hadn't done well against Winn recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Rockets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Mavericks. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Mavericks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

They were helped by Genesis Hernandez and Ariel Casarez, who contributed seven assists each. Genesis and Casarez didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.
