Softball Recap: Mercy Mcauley's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The Mercy McAuley Wolves beat the Bishop Brossart Mustangs 12-9 on Monday.

Madi Zech was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Sucietto, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mercy McAuley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mercy McAuley's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-8. As for Bishop Brossart, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercy McAuley will venture away from home to take on Turpin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Brossart, they will head out to square off against Harrison County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thorobreds/Fillies' pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
