Baseball Game Preview: Memphis Cyclones vs. Lockney Longhorns

The Memphis Cyclones will face off against the Lockney Longhorns at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Memphis will be strutting in after a win while Lockney will be coming in after a loss.

Memphis took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Quanah with a sharp 14-2 victory.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Lockney was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of Wellington by a score of 3-2. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dyllan Thiebaud put in work no matter where he played. He struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Xavier Jimenez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

The win got Memphis back to even at 7-7. As for Lockney, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
